Sterling Engineering became a member of American Staffing Association (ASA) in 2005. The American Staffing Association is the voice of the U.S. staffing industry. Along with its affiliated chapters, ASA promotes the interests of the industry through legal and legislative advocacy, public relations, education and the establishment of high standards of ethical conduct.

Sterling joined Technology Management Association of Chicago (TMAC) in 2008. TMAC consists of managers from companies with extensive R&D capabilities, technology entrepreneurs and anyone interested in keeping their business apprised of emerging technologies. Monthly meetings focus on the latest in hot technologies and technology-related issues for businesses and serve to keep technical managers informed of useful new technologies and business practices.

Sterling joined Valley Industrial Association (VIA) in 2000. The VIA is exclusively for manufacturers and those businesses in Northern Illinois which serve manufacturing in the Fox Valley area, including Kane, Kendall, DeKalb and Western DuPage counties.
