Established in 1969 by Dan Casey, Sterling Engineering was founded on three basic principles:

Sterling started with one full-time and two part-time engineers designing packaging machinery. Launched by an exclusive (and large) contract to provide engineers to design prototypes for manufacturing equipment, Sterling found that it could attract quality engineers simply by complementing its service offering with a Comprehensive Benefit Program. As a result of this opportunity, Sterling diversified into both turnkey projects and staffing services. Today, Sterling is a firm that serves over 100 customers and employs over 500 consultants.
