On August 20, 2012, approximately 400 people came together to honor some of the most exciting companies to work for in Chicago. The “101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For” is an awards ceremony providing the business community with the opportunity to gain recognition, showcase their best practices, and demonstrate why they are an ideal place for employees. The program provides year-long education, benchmarking, assessment tools, and interaction amongst the best employers.
This event was to award the companies that are making the lives of their employees better, as well as the community as a whole. Kevin Bass, Account Executive at Sterling Engineering, had the pleasure of speaking during one of the educational, best practice sessions, “Attracting and Identifying the Best Employee Talent for Today and Tomorrow.” His presentation focused on understanding the current job market, supply and demand trends, and recruiting strategies for the engineering and manufacturing market in the Chicago area. Immediately following, Amy Bastuga, of Radio Flyer, provided an excellent representation of the programs they use to attract, screen, and retain top talent. Kevin and Amy then joined together in a panel presentation moderated by Tonya Hubbart of FONA international.
