Do you have children whom you would like to help with math and science education? FIRST, offers innovative programs that motivate young people to pursue education and career opportunities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). At Sterling, our employee driven support of FIRST continues and we encourage you to consider getting involved as a volunteer and/or mentor.
Participating in FIRST is an amazing experience for both the kids and the adults involved. As a volunteer, the children on your team are going to inspire you and those around you, in surprising ways. If you have no technical background, don’t be nervous. The team members are the ones who do the work. You only need to ask the questions and watch them… GO!
Through FIRST, many of our employees support students by volunteering either through their children’s school with Junior +FIRST LEGO championships (Ages 7 – 16) or with
FIRST ROBOTICS (Ages 14 – 18). With FIRST ROBOTICS you can be a mentor and provide practical hands-on experience by engaging students in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering and technology skills.
