Global Midwest Alliance Manufacturing Industry Event hosts the first program in the Alliance’s 2014 Innovation, Growth and Globalization Industry-Focused Series. Throughout the year, this series of programs will highlight expertise, innovation and technology, and globalization opportunities in growing industries. These events are following a February announcement by President Obama that a multi-partner team led by UI LABS was selected to received a $70 million award from the U.S. Department of Defense for the Digital Manufacturing and Design Innovation Institute. This announcement will have a significant and long-term impact on all manufacturing companies and the Global Midwest Alliance upcoming programs will expand on topics such as this.
The Alliance’s annual manufacturing industry program on April 24 will host discussion on innovation, growth and globalization in the advanced manufacturing sector. This year’s keynote speaker will discuss the new opportunities and economic benefits that advanced manufacturing is providing in the Midwest and globally.
The Innovation Panel, comprised of industry experts and insiders, will host a discussion on recent advancements in technology that are increasing U.S. manufacturing competitiveness in the global marketplace. The Growth and Opportunities Panel, comprised of leaders in the manufacturing industry, will review and discuss how advanced manufacturing provides growth opportunities, domestically and globally, and is leading the charge in the economic recovery.
Manufacturers will have the opportunity to learn how advanced manufacturing can be used to change both the local and global landscape, as well as network with industry leaders, corporate executives, government officials and advanced manufacturers.
