As a part of Sterling Engineering’s ongoing effort to promote health, wellness, and philanthropy, Sterling Engineering employees headed to Memorial Park in Wheaton bright and early Saturday morning on June 7th to run either a 5K or 10K race benefitting the Cosley Zoo. Over 1,500 runners made their way through the neighborhoods and scenic parks, while supporters cheered on the sidelines. After the race, a Smart Health Life Trak Move C300 was raffled off to one lucky winner, a device that measures your steps, calories, distance, and heart rate. Sterling Engineering has plans to participate in more races throughout the year, and will be inviting customers and employees to join as well.
The Cosley Zoo Run for the Animals was named Best 5K/10k in the Midwest by Competitor Magazine in 2011, and is a CARA registered and electronically timed race. Cosley Zoo is situated on five acres and dotted with ponds, this nationally recognized zoo offers an intimate experience with a large variety of domestic farm animals and native Illinois wildlife. A stroll through the barn gives visitors an opportunity to encounter a wooly llama, playful goats and a host of other animals. Discover wildlife exhibits, with their shady expanses which immerse you in the natural habitats of White-tailed Deer, Red Fox, Three-toed Box Turtles, a Black-crowned Night Heron and a collection of other animals. – See more at: http://www.cosleyzoo.org
