wbccSterling is excited to announce that we have moved our corporate office to Two Westbrook Corporate Center in Westchester, IL.

“We are very pleased to be back in Westchester,” said CEO Dolores Connolly, noting Sterling’s long history in the area. “We spent over 15 years in this facility in the late ‘80s and ‘90s. In 2006, following the merge of the Arlington Heights and Countryside offices, we moved to a larger facility in Elmhurst. Our client base and reach has grown over the past 5 years and it became imperative that we upgrade to a more high-tech facility to better serve both our existing and new clients. Westbrook Corporate Center offers a central location with a more open collaborative environment for our engineering, sales, and recruiting staff to thrive in.”

Moving 45 years of engineering documentation and history required some creative, solution based thinking.  Engineering Manager Steve Waszkowiak and CFO Tim Silkaitis with the help of Process Improvement Manager Kevin Bass, seized the opportunity to implement a paperless process in most departments. During the engineering library review, Steve unearthed some fascinating archived documents and drawings. These hand sketched pen and ink engineering drawings are a wonderful example of the skill and accuracy required by a design engineer in pre-3D CAD days. These drawings have now been scanned and saved for our company’s ever expanding file of historical records. Past Right Angle newsletters provided an interesting and sometimes fun look back at the company’s progress and development through the years. It was nice to see so many familiar faces at past holiday and summer parties who are still a part of Sterling today.

“Our entire team has worked extremely hard, and I’m very pleased that we are in a position to reward them with a bright, creative environment,” said Rama Kavaliauskas, President.  Citing recent industry studies that natural light, clean minimal lines, and a spacious break room keep people more engaged and productive. “We put the emphasis on open plan versus private offices, and so far everyone has embraced and is enjoying the change. Plus with winter coming, the building’s on-site amenities are a real bonus.”  Hopefully this year winter in Chicago will not be as long and snowy as last year.

We’re proud of our new office and would love to show you around, if you’re in the area stop by for a tour.
