You may be aware that many of our Clients have been working diligently to leverage their status as an essential business to help accelerate COVID-19 vaccine availability. However, there continues to be a shortage of vaccine supplies and the distribution of vaccines has been challenging for both state and local governments to manage. On a more encouraging note, however, more people are getting the vaccine every day. In fact, some of you may have already been able to secure external appointments and some have even gotten their first or second vaccination.
In partnership with our Clients, Sterling’s priority is to ensure that all employees who would like to get vaccinated are able to do so as soon as possible. As such, we are encouraging you to connect with your local health authorities to secure a vaccination if you can.
To better facilitate this process, Sterling can provide our employees upon request with an Essential Worker letter if the following conditions apply:
- The Client that you are currently assigned to has been categorized by the Federal government as an Essential Critical Infrastructure company. The advisory list identifies companies who conduct a range of operations and services that are typically essential to continued critical infrastructure viability, including maintaining and repairing critical infrastructure, operating call centers, construction and performing operational functions, among others. It also includes companies who support crucial supply chains and enable functions for critical infrastructure. This includes those involved in the research, development, manufacturing, distribution, and administration of COVID-19 vaccines. The industries that essential workers support represent, but are not limited to, medical and healthcare, telecommunications, information technology systems, defense, food and agriculture, transportation and logistics, energy, water and wastewater, and law enforcement.
- Sterling will contact the Client to reverify their status as an Essential Infrastructure company and confirm their approval of Sterling issuing Essential Worker letters to our employees. In many cases, these letters are being sent in unison with the Client providing letters to their own employees.
